The Rohr division originated in 1929 when it started as a sand & gravel operation. As the company grew it looked for ways to efficiently mine and began engineering and building land based, floating bucket ladder and clamshell dredges. The company continues to innovate and has multiple patents that have improved the efficiency and performance of its medium to deep digging dredges. In 2011 Rohr U.S. and its' European operations were purchased by Ellicott Dredge Enterprises, LLC, as part of EDE's continued expansion to offer its worldwide customers multiple dredging options for their mining requirements.
In 2012 Rohr International Dredge Holdings (a subsidiary of EDE) acquired Idreco GmbH, now Idreco BV, in the Netherlands, which is a leader in the deep-digging jet and cutter suction modular dredge industry, as well engineering and supplying its' own pump line in the mining and dam desilting sectors. Idreco's innovative designs, energy efficient dredge systems and pump designs high light our forward thinking approach.
In 2014 RIDH acquired a long time licensee, Rohr France, which is a distributor and service operation for the Rohr-Idreco product lines. This acquisition further solidifies our niche in the French mining sector.

ROHR-IDRECO Dredge Systems engineers and assemblies our dredges at our facilities in the US and Europe using leading component suppliers like Siemens and Allan Bradley. RIDS is known for supplying a state-of-the- art Dredge Control Systems (DCS) and Digital GPS sonar for new and existing dredges that provide customers the ability to have a measurement and visualization system to optimize the productivity of the dredging operation in real time.
